Jumblies Day Nursery is situated on Jubilee Wharf in Penryn. We moved into these premises in the autumn of 2006 from our schoolroom behind the Methodist Church where we provided sessional care for over 30 years and were known as Penryn Preschool. We now provide full day care for children aged 0-5 years old and are part of the Penryn Children’s Centre.

In our Baby and Toddler room we care for up to six children under the age of two, in our Preschool room we have got spaces for up to 26 children between the ages of two and five years.

We are open from 8 o’clock in the morning until 6 o’clock in the evening from Monday to Friday.

Policies:
Safeguarding Children, Equality of opportunity and Complaints Policy are on the left of the entrance door; all other policies are in the pink folder on the shelf by the door.

Funding:
Children qualify for 15 hours of government funding per week commencing the term after their third birthday.

Registration:
We charge a registration fee of £10 for the preschool room and £50 for the baby room which £40 will be credited against the first bill.

Children only accessing the government funded Preschool sessions do not have to pay a registration fee.

Booking:
Hours have to be booked at least one week in advance to allow us to adjust staffing levels and are subject to availability.

Admissions:
Due to the limited number of spaces available, Jumblies admissions system is operated on a first come first serve basis.

Inclusion:
Jumblies Nursery aims to include all children.

Holidays:
Holidays have to be booked two weeks in advance. To enable us to keep your child’s place a charge of 50% of your usual charge will be made.

Sickness:
We are not able to care for sick children in the Nursery. Advice on illnesses can be found in the Spotty Book by the door.

Children need to be kept off for 48 hours after their last bout of sickness and/or diarrhoea. We are only able to administer medicines prescribed by a doctor. Please talk to a senior member of staff if you are concerned about epilepsy.

Absence due to sickness will incur full charge. Long term illness will be considered on an individual basis.

Payment:
Payment is required fortnightly in advance for all bookings, unless otherwise agreed.

Cancellation:
Two weeks notice will be required when cancelling your child’s place.
